Painting birds

Recently, while cleaning out my painting stuff, I saw the book ‘Painting garden birds with Sherry C Nelson’.

I had bought it like 17 years back and carried it with me ever since with the hope of painting some of it, someday.

I decided to paint them this past week and bring closure to a long held wish.

These are oil paint on cardboard, mostly acrylic background with delicate brushwork and detailing.

This is a finch amidst daisies and wooden fence.

Here a wren is perched on an old watering can. Can you see the bug?

This swallow is sitting on a barn window with broken glass and cobweb.

A hummingbird flapping its wings near some fuchsia.
